Truly Top-Notch

Each item is personally shaped, polished and assembled by hand. Whether it is a custom order or an item featured on our site, you can know hours of work and care went into the product you purchase.

The Pen Creation Process:

Once a pen kit is paired with a blank, the blank is cut and drilled for the pen tubes. The tubes are glued into the blanks using a strong epoxy and then allowed to dry overnight. Next, the blanks are turned on the lathe shaping each blank into the desired profile. Once the shaping is complete, the blank has to be finished. The type of blank determines the finishing process. A wooden blank is sanded using 6 different grits of sandpaper. Next, a sealer is applied before one last fine sanding. The blank is then finished with 3 layers of lacquer and completed with a final coat of museum grade wax. Then pen is then assembled.  Acrylic and hybrid pen blanks are sanded using 9 different grits of Abranet sanding cloth, 9 different grits of Micromesh polishing cloth, and 6 different types of Magic Pen Juice. A final coat of museum grade wax is applied to the blanks before the pen is finally assembled.
